Whenever I danced with Aaliyah I always felt we were synchronized as women. I always wanted to make her be the best. I gave it all as if I was the artist. She was a person always true to herself, music and her art. She never played any industry games, her success came from people who loved her voice and her as a person. She was never one of the music industry folks. She had no security, no people really around until maybe when she was releasing an album, and she was always down to earth. Everyone was always pleasantly surprised by this and that’s why when she died it hit everyone so hard. I feel like for me there are moments when I really feel her presence in the studio, she loved dancing so much.
